1900s German Gold-Plated Openwork Jugendstil brooch with floral engraving

€55.00

A finely constructed German Jugendstil brooch featuring a lightweight hollow-form body with an openwork lattice. Smooth outer bands curve upwards at either side, framing a raised oval cartouche engraved with a stylised floral bloom and crowned by a three-leaf crest. Small bead accents lend further definition to the layered composition. The back features a small ring for attaching a small pendant drop. Its combination of sweeping curves, geometric latticework and botanical ornament is characteristic of German Jugendstil design during the 1900s, while retaining a subtle historicist influence.

The brooch measures 3,5 x 2,2 cm and makes use of a C-Catch to fasten the pin on the back.

This brooch is in perfect Antique condition, no major visible dents or scratches. Quality gold-plating! The pin is very sturdy and in full working order. Fully cleaned and ready to wear!
