A magnificent chatelaine fob, made by the renowned Gottlieb & Wagner in Idar Oberstein. Its crafted from silver-plated brass and consists of a tightly woven, flattened chain mesh finished with finely chased end caps featuring elegant flattened wire scrollwork. The mesh is adorned with a vivid red and white-enamel champlevé Swiss shield, while the reverse carries the contrasting black-and-white arms of Basel. Suspended below, a double-sided medallion repeats both emblems in mirrored arrangement, each framed by delicate chased motifs. The fob is about 14,5 cm long and 2cm wide. While originally Intended to be suspended from a pocket watch, it can easily be used as a stylish keychain or attached to your car keys!
It's in good antique condition considering its age. No major dents or scratches. One enamel applique has some damage, the other ones are in good condition! Otherwise fully cleaned and ready to wear!
