This elegant early 20th-century tie clip is based on the English patented “Wedge” system, a push-tension mechanism introduced in the 1910s and widely exported across Europe. The present example, likely produced for the Spanish market. The clip is fitted with a circular mother-of-pearl disk, upon which rests a delicate cameo of a lady’s profile, die-struck in silvered brass.
The clip measures: 3 cm long and is best used with a Vintage or antique style tie and shirt, attached to the point (see illustration in the pictures). Alternatively, it can also be worn with a narrow modern tie.
In Perfect Antique condition. No major visible dents or scratches. Mechanism works perfectly, Gold-Plating is fully intact! Fully cleaned, and ready to wear!
